Melinda joined the Rape  Recovery Center in 2014 after serving as a clinician at UNI and the YWCA.  Her passion is in compassionate and caring client centered services. In her free time she enjoys art and running.

 april-resized April Riney, ACMHC Therapist April enjoys using art, play, and other modes of expression to help clients explore their beliefs and ways of being. She is trained in EMDR and is passionate about working with survivors of trauma. April enjoys baking, dancing, and finding a quiet spot to take in life.

 carla-resize Carla Galvez             Bilingual Advocate Carla’s background is in domestic violence advocacy, social justice, and exercise sciences. She believes in a mindfulness and feminist approach to many aspects in life. In her free time she spends it being active in nature, kickboxing, yoga, meditation, reading, cooking, art, music and is  passionate about LGBTQ+, Latino and animal rights.
 evelin-resize Evelin Damian Ramirez                   Bilingual Advocate Evelin received her bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Utah. She is very involved in the community and attends as many community events as she can. Evelin enjoys reading, blogging, and spending time outdoors.
 maryvic-resized Maryvic Ruiz  Receptionist Maryvic is from Venezuela and raised in the United States. She received her Associate of Science at Weber State University. She has a background in plant biology and media broadcasting. She enjoys drawing, reading, studying, and spending time with family and friends.

Her past experience has  been working in domestic violence , criminal justice and substance abuse. She is passionate about social justice and policy. She loves her two cats and two dogs, and enjoys Zumba on her spare time.

She is a trauma informed therapist that  believes that the healing journey is a process of learning to feel a whole range of emotions. She loves family, good food, animals, walks, hikes, runs, treats, yoga, Netflix, traveling and adventuring.
 karen-resize Karen Yu           Clinical Intern Karen is working on her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Utah. She believes every one is shaped by their own experiences and deserves to be treated with compassion and respect. She enjoys sitcoms, movies, cheering on the Utah Utes football team, and volunteering for local animal rescue organizations.
