Half of our annual operating budget is met through private giving and local support of individuals, foundations, and corporate giving programs. As such, we ask you to support our work to create and sustain a community where our families can grow and flourish. Your tax-deductible gift will support sexual violence prevention and community outreach programs and provide survivors of sexual violence with emergency and long term services.
Opportunities for Giving
Gift of Cash
One-Time Gift – You can submit an online donation on our secure server or mail a donation to the Rape Recovery Center. Please check and see if your employer will match your gift. Many corporations in Salt Lake County offer programs that match your donation with a donation from their corporate giving fund, thus doubling the amount of your gift.
Monthly Giving – You can also pledge a set amount per month for 2011. Donating the cost of one night out or a grande latte per month can add up by the end of the year. To sign up for monthly giving click here
Gift of Giving
Give a meaningful gift instead of a material one. Tribute and memorial donations are a great way to mark special occasions or honor loved ones. When you donate to the Rape Recovery Center in honor of a loved one or friend, we will send a special card notifying the honoree of your gift. To make a tribute or memorial donation, click here.
Gift of Securities
Giving the gift of appreciated assets is a great way to make a difference and leverage your gifting. Our brokerage account is at Wells Fargo Bank to accept gifts in the form of stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares. Please email Holly Mullen for more information about transferring securities.
Gift of Life Insurance
You can give the gift of life insurance by naming the Rape Recovery Center as one of your policy beneficiaries.
Recognizing the Rape Recovery Center in your will, family trust, annuity benefit or family foundation. Please contact Mara Haight for ideas on creating a gift for generations to come.
If you or your church or school group is looking for a way to contribute to our work, please email Mara Haight to discuss various options to consider. In the past we have had students, schools and groups hold bake sales, ask students to bring in their “spare change” to contribute, or each donate what they would have spent for a lunch that day and donated the proceeds to the Rape Recovery Center.
We are often in need of office supplies and equipment. For a current list of items on our wish list click here.
The Rape Recovery Center retains and uses donor information for the following purposes:
1. To allow the Rape Recovery Center to comply with donor’s restrictions and designations, to provide donors with charitable giving tax information and for donor recognition programs. The information is retained in the financial records of Rape Recovery Center for financial recording and internal financial accounting control purposes.
2. Donor information may also be added to the Rape Recovery Center donor list and database and you may be contacted about Rape Recovery Center activities, news and/or fundraising campaigns.
Upon written request to the Executive Director of the Rape Recovery Center, donors may access their personal information and specify that the information be corrected, oppose the retention of the information, or request its elimination from the Rape Recovery Center’s records.
We are committed to accountability to our donors and welcome the opportunity to share our Annual Report with you. We also invite you to review our most recent Audited Financial Documents and 990 Tax Return. Please contact Mara Haight if you have any questions about these documents, how your donation will be used, or to schedule an appointment to discuss giving opportunities.
