The professional licensed therapists at the Rape Recovery Center are specially trained to work with survivors on their journey of healing from the impact of sexual violence. They offer individual therapy sessions as well as a variety of groups for survivors.

Survivors may call the Rape Recovery Center to schedule an intake session during office hours (Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). During this intake, the therapist will work with the client to determine the best plan for therapy. This may include group therapy, individual therapy, or a combination of both. Occasionally, clients are referred elsewhere when more comprehensive care is required or the waiting list is too long.

Therapy at the Rape Recovery Center is highly individual and emphasizes empowerment, strength-building, self-awareness, and mindfulness. Based in a feminist multicultural philosophy, our work with clients reflects our belief that much of the pain experienced in the aftermath of sexual trauma is caused by the rape myths and cultural norms that blame the victim rather than the perpetrator.

We also offer various therapy groups throughout the year.

(Sometimes there is a waiting list for therapy, as demand for our services is always high. Short crisis intervention appointments are available in the meantime.)

The Rape Recovery Center offers a $0-$70 sliding fee scale, depending on household income of the client. Free services are available when needed.
