Utah Rape Recovery Center to highlight prevention during Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The Rape Recovery Center (RRC) wants to create awareness and increase prevention this April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), particularly to the high prevalence of sexual assault in Utah.

“One in three women and one in eight men will be affected by sexual assault in her lifetime. This year’s SAAM theme is “Prevention is Possible” and we hope to reach our goal of ensuring that all communities have access to services and prevention efforts.” said Stephany Murguia.

The following events will take place during April:

Wednesday, April 13 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Take Back Our Pride, a joint event with the Utah Pride center to highlight the disproportionate number of LGBTQ+ individuals who experience sexual assault.
